Donating blankets for those in need
After 4 years making an impact across Lambeth first and then London, we have decided to expand on the amazing success of Blankets for London with the help of volunteer ambassadors across the globe.
Our objective with Blankets for the World is to distribute warm, handmade blankets to different areas in the world, giving a chance to people who send blankets and squares to contribute directly to their local area. We are committed to making a positive impact in the lives of those in need and believe that Blankets for the World will allow us to broaden our reach and increase our impact.
In 2025, we assembled a record number of 519 blankets, distributed across 12 locations in the UK and Europe.

How to get involved
We are currently accepting donations until 8th November 2026.
If you want to start making, we will be collecting already assembled blankets. Our standard size is 100x140cm, or 35 squares. We are prioritising collecting already assembled blankets from this year in the hope of helping out our volunteers and ultimately distributing more blankets to people experiencing houselessness.
If you are planning on contributing less than 35 squares, you can post us 20x20cm squares of any yarn thickness and stitch pattern (ends woven in please!)
We are not accepting yarn donations at this time.

Free monthly knitting workshops in london
To support this initiative, we will still continue running our free monthly knitting workshops from our headquarters in Brixton, and activating different areas of London into making knitted and crocheted squares. We welcome all participants, regardless of their experience level, to join us!
