In 2025 we beat our record number of blankets from 2024, as we assembled 315 blankets. Together with the blankets from the first rendition of Blankets for the World, the total is 519 blankets, bringing the grand total of blankets made so far to 991 blankets.
We partnered up with Centrepoint, Brixton Soup Kitchen , Ealing Soup Kitchen and Your Place for distribution.
The only workshop that was publicly funded in 2025 was our special Knit Club “Stitch, Stretch and Snack” as part of the Mayor’s Community Weekend. The only reason why we could run our workshop throughout the year is thanks to all the participants supporting us with donations and to the community partners we have worked with on commissioned workshops.
Across 2025, we facilitated eleven monthly knitting workshops at our HQ 3Space International House in Brixton; in addition to our regular Knit Clubs, we hosted a number of special Knit Clubs, including a special edition at the V&A, a workshop at the London Museum, a workshop at Emma Cons Gardens and a ‘Can Ewe Knit It?’ workshop in collaboration with Aardman Animations.
We were delighted to come together again for two more Big Cathedral Knits at Southwark Cathedral. Similar to our usual Knit Clubs, we had facilitators teaching attendees, but we also had an amazing group of over 80 volunteers to help ensure the events ran smoothly.
We’re so excited for what 2026 is going to bring and how the project is going to grow, and we can’t wait to run more meaningful workshops across our beloved city.
